Singapore is clean, safe and easy to explore — a perfect first international trip, and a popular add-on to a Malaysia or Thailand holiday. Pakistani passport holders need a visa, and one detail surprises many first-time travellers: you usually can't apply on your own — applications are submitted through an authorised visa agent or a local contact in Singapore.
How the process works
- Choose an authorised visa agent in Pakistan, or ask a contact in Singapore to submit for you.
- Fill in the visa application form and provide your documents.
- The application is submitted to Singapore's immigration authority.
- If approved, you receive an electronic visa to print and carry.
Tip: Be careful of unofficial websites and agents who promise guaranteed approval. Use a recognised travel agency, and never pay large "processing" amounts in cash without a receipt.
Documents usually required
- Passport valid for at least six months
- Completed visa application form
- Recent passport-size photograph with a white background
- Return flight booking
- Hotel booking for your stay
- Recent bank statements
- Employment letter or business documents
First-time traveller tips
- Carry your printed e-visa, return ticket and hotel booking — immigration may ask
- Fill in the arrival card online before you land, as required by Singapore immigration
- Know the rules: Singapore has strict laws — no chewing gum, no littering, and heavy fines for smoking in non-smoking areas
- Use public transport: the MRT metro is fast, cheap and easy
Combine it with Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur to Singapore is an easy journey by bus or flight, so many travellers combine the two — a few nights in KL and Genting, then two or three nights in Singapore for Marina Bay, Sentosa and Gardens by the Bay.
