South Korea has become a favourite for travellers who love modern cities, food, shopping and K-culture. Pakistani passport holders need a visa for tourism, and the application is assessed mainly on your employment or business and your finances. Here is how to prepare depending on what you do.
Documents everyone needs
- Passport valid for at least six months, plus copies of previous visas
- Completed visa application form and a recent photograph
- CNIC copy
- Flight reservation and hotel bookings
- A short day-by-day travel plan
- Personal bank statements for recent months, with a bank maintenance letter
Check the Korean embassy's official website for the latest list before submitting, as requirements are updated from time to time.
If you are an employee
- Employment certificate on company letterhead with your position, salary, joining date and approved leave
- Recent salary slips
- Tax documents, if available
If you own a business
- Business registration (SECP certificate, partnership deed or registration documents)
- NTN certificate and income tax returns
- Business bank statements, alongside your personal statements
- A letter explaining your business and your travel plan
If you are a student or not working
Students should provide an enrolment letter, and dependants should include the sponsor's documents (usually a parent or spouse) along with proof of relationship.
Tip: Strong previous travel — especially to Japan, the UK, USA, Schengen countries or Southeast Asia — can support your application. Include copies of those visas and entry stamps.
