Tourist Visas for Freelancers and Business Owners in Pakistan

Salaried employees have it easy: an employment letter and payslips explain their income in two pages. Freelancers and business owners have to work a little harder to show the same thing — that their income is real, steady and tied to Pakistan. With the right documents, they can be just as strong as any applicant.

For business owners

Show that the business exists, is active and earns income:

  • Business registration — SECP certificate, partnership deed, or sole-proprietor registration
  • NTN certificate and recent income tax returns
  • Business bank statements for the last six months, alongside your personal statements
  • Chamber of commerce membership, if you have it
  • A letter on your company letterhead confirming your role, that you are taking a holiday, and that you will return to run the business

For freelancers

Freelancing is now a common profession, but you need to make your work visible on paper:

  • Profile and earnings proof from platforms like Upwork, Fiverr or Toptal, with your account name matching your passport
  • Contracts or ongoing agreements with your main clients
  • How you get paid — Payoneer, Wise or bank remittance statements showing incoming foreign payments
  • Personal bank statements showing those payments arriving in your Pakistani account
  • Tax returns and NTN — filing returns makes a freelancer's income far more credible
  • PSEB registration, if you are registered as an IT freelancer

Tip: Make sure the income on your platform, your payment service and your bank statement tells the same story. Gaps between them are what raise questions.

Write a clear cover letter

In a few short paragraphs explain:

  1. What you do and how long you have been doing it
  2. How you earn and receive money
  3. Your travel plan and who is paying
  4. Why you will return — clients, a business to run, family and property in Pakistan

Show your ties to Pakistan

Property documents, a family registration certificate, children's school letters and your previous travel history all help show that your life is based in Pakistan.

Common mistakes

  • Large deposits that appear just before the application
  • Personal and business funds mixed together with no explanation
  • Not filing tax returns, so income can't be verified
  • A trip that seems too long for someone running a business
